Overview.

Visita Online is a medical platform that provides doctors of various specialties with information on medications through videos that demonstrate their composition, mechanism of action, and dosage. To encourage user engagement, a gamification system has been implemented that allows users to earn points for each video they view. These points can be redeemed for academic activities.

 
I have participated as the main designer in the renewal proposal for this platform, working to create a visually appealing and user-friendly design that enhances the user experience.

Problem.

The platform's current visualization lacks fluidity and can be confusing for users, which negatively impacts the user experience. Furthermore, the platform has an outdated and unappealing appearance, which may discourage users from using the platform. To improve the user experience, it is necessary to address these issues and redesign the platform's visualization and appearance.

Goals.

  • Improve the visualization of the platform
  • Make the platform less confusing for users
  • Update the platform's appearance to be more modern and appealing
  • Enhance the user experience on mobile devices
  • Make the navigation of videos and academic activities more intuitive on mobile devices
  • Maintain the current sequence of operation while improving the user experience

Process.

Users.

The users of this platform are doctors with various specialties, as well as medical students and other healthcare professionals.

Quantitative Research and Insights.

  • The platform currently has an approximate reach of 20,000 medical graduates, 12,000 medical students, and 18,000 specialists
  • According to a survey, 13% of doctors prefer to conduct medical visits online
  • Email is the preferred method of contact for 10% of doctors


User Needs.

  • Users have limited time and need quick access to relevant content.
  • Older users may have difficulty navigating digital channels, so it is important to provide clear and visually accessible content.
  • To appeal to our users, we should aim to provide discrete graphics with a scientific and non-commercial appearance.

New Design.

I have proposed a design for a clearer interface that uses colors and iconographies that are related to the brand and create a modern look. This design aims to improve the user experience by making the interface more intuitive and visually appealing.

Workflow.

To earn points and redeem rewards on our platform, the user must go through the following process:


  • The user initiates an interaction with the platform, completing a registration .
  • The platform records the interaction with videos and assigns points to the user's account based on the type and value of the interaction.
  • The user can view their current points balance and redeem their points for rewards through the platform's redemption center.
  • Once the user has selected their desired reward and confirmed the redemption, the platform processes the redemption and provides the user with the reward.
  • The platform updates the user's points balance to reflect the redemption.
  • Once a video is finished, the platform enables a new video

This workflow ensures that the user can easily watch new videos, earn and redeem points for engaging with the platform, while also providing a clear and consistent process for tracking and managing their points balance.

Results.

The platform now has more than 39,000 registered users who are contacted through the platform and email campaigns.


The feedback we have received from users has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the improved navigation and visually appealing iconography. Although the design is still being iterated and tested, we are confident that it will greatly enhance the user experience on our platform. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with an external team to bring these updates to fruition.
